If you’ve been injured, be careful what you say

Here’s a quick guide to what NOT to say — even if you’re just trying to be polite or friendly:

❌ Phrases to Avoid:

  • "I'm fine."

  • "I'm okay."

  • "It’s not that bad."

  • "It could have been worse."

  • "I'm feeling better every day."

  • "It’s probably my fault too."

  • "I don’t really need to see a doctor."

  • "I’m sure the insurance company will do the right thing."

  • "I don’t want to cause any trouble."

  • "It’s no big deal."

✅ Instead, You Can Say:

  • "I'm still being evaluated by my doctor."

  • "I'm following my doctor’s recommendations."

  • "I'm currently receiving treatment."

  • "I’m still recovering and don’t know the full extent yet."

Quick Tips:

  • Stay polite — but don’t minimize your injuries.

  • Stay honest — but don’t volunteer extra information.

  • Stay cautious — especially in conversations with insurance adjusters.

When in doubt, say less — and call your attorney.
